Our head is very large and at the end of every snoot is our magical nose. This is our most prominent feature. Our nose has done amazing work in search and rescue, as well as get us in lots of trouble at dinner time! Our eyes always have a "sad" appearance, but if in a happy home, we are never sad! Bloodhound's eye lids are often turned in our out, (which gives our eyes the unique appearance), which could lead to health problems. Our eyes need to constantly be cleaned. They often get goopy which could cause infections is the goop is not wiped away. Then connected to our head is our long, floppy ears. They, too have to be cleaned inside and out at least weekly. Because my ears are so long, and because I usually walk with my nose to the ground, the tips of my ears pick up all kind of stuff. When I drink water, my ears get drenched and wet ears are like a magnet to dirt and dust. The inside of my ears must be worse, because it takes a long time to clean them. I hear dad and mom say my ears are like the Grand Canyon on the inside. What's the Grand Canyon? Well, anyway, it's important to keep my ears clean...weekly, not only to prevent health issues, but because my ears will get very stinky, too. Lastly, on my face is my mouth. My "flews", or lips are extra large, which makes my mouth appear to be quite big and with a set of large teeth, this could be intimidating. I can hide a baseball in my flews, really! I always have to have my flews cleaned, because they could get real messy, which brings me to my next physical characteristic...
